HELLO, kings and queens. My name is Shawn L.
No matter where I’m at, I refer to people I meet as “King” or “Queen.” It started when I was in prison. In prison some will go against you, but some will go along with you. It didn’t matter who you were, I was gonna call you king or queen. I was known as Mr. King and Queen in prison because of that.
As I walked along my spot on Old Hickory Boulevard and Central Pike picking up trash all along the side of the bluff, I noticed a bunch of papers just blowing around in the wind.
I was having a reasonably successful day out on my corner, when two nice looking people walked up to me.
This past week I moved out of Mercury Courts Apartments where I have been housed for almost 19 years, to the MDHA property Centennial Towers off of West End avenue.
My Uncle Harry is 81 years old this year. He is vital and funny and very technically oriented. He had a great life as a software and hardware engineer in computers. We spent 40 years not being able to find each other, but found each other during Covid. He helped me repair my truck.

In my almost 19 year association with The Contributor and holding Vendor Badge #0002, I have a pretty good idea who buys our paper.
With all the wintery weather it is no surprise that I haven’t been on my corner at all since it began. I DO miss seeing my customers, but fortunately, I’ve ran into a few of them in other places.
First, create a shelter that has a domed roof away from prying eyes.
