Got the home, got the job, got the self esteem back but one thing still remained outstanding: the privilege and right to vote!
Poverty: lazy people, alcoholics and drug addicts, people with physical or mental disabilities, criminal minds, outcasts, dropouts from society, people not seeking help just handouts. What causes poverty? And is being poor a choice? I’m not going to try and answer those questions, but I will say from my experience and opinion, I don’t know. When observing homelessness, can I explain how that person became homeless?
The other day I was reading my devotional and it had a topic called, “Stop Crowing.”
But who are “they” to decide how the ideal woman should look and what she should weigh?
Let’s begin by finding a quiet and comfortable place to pray.
Living life is full of the elements of strife, whereas the unknown is the spark of war. It’s a harsh reality that many are “late bloomers.” There are those that have patterned themselves and their lifestyles accordingly to many different aspects for a long time and then all of a sudden, after decades, decide to change. They have fought for the same amount of time to free themselves and even become equal in their lifestyles, which makes them late bloomers. Just as textbooks and classrooms are honored for their educational value, so too should life experience and common sense be honored for what they can teach. Throughout history, we have sought to understand the proper place of sexual education.
Now that public programs are being gutted, it is time for Nashville’s churches to step up.
A community is a group of people with a shared purpose. Today, with the government interfering with how we see and care for each other, it is easy to lose our purpose.
