We are all connected by what we do to better others. Each time we meet you or support us our lives are tied together by how we treat each other. There are recent events that I would like to remember and one to come.
Recently, The Contributor held a yearly award ceremony where I received an award for Excellence in Creative Expression. When I asked Linda Bailey, Co-Editor at The Contributor to please give me an understanding of what the award was for, she sent me an email response. “Every year at our Annual Breakfast Fundraiser, we give out 2-3 awards that highlight Contributor Vendors who have made significant contributions in the editorial side of the newspaper. Your award was for Excellence in Creative Expression. For this award, we wrote, ‘Daniel is dedicated to the arts. His paintings have been featured on the cover of the paper and his writing largely focuses on community involvement in the arts. His artistic endeavors go beyond the paper and he enthusiastically shares his work with The Contributor audience.”
Next was the award I received from Second Story Card for top holiday card sales. Featuring a stack of books comparing Ron DeSantis and Santa Claus. Where one gives books and the other takes away. Second Story Cards helps homeless and low income people make a new beginning by selling cards over 30 states. Go to their website which includes multiple talented individuals who can benefit from sales of cards and stickers.
Last is Daybreak Arts of which I have been a part for several years. I have benefitted by their community involvement. Daybreak Arts is another family of artists who sell art, jewelry, clothing and other forms of art. On April 6 from 6-9 p.m. they will be celebrating their ten year anniversary. They are online at www.daybreakarts.org. Please come out to 1900 Church Street and be a part of this one-time event. I look forward to meeting you. As always, thank you for being a part of our community.
