The Contributor is seeking an individual interested in being a critical part of the production of our weekly street newspaper. This internship will provide an aspiring journalist with the opportunity to develop a portfolio of reporting and gain experiencing working with people experiencing homelessness.
Editorial interns will participate in some or all of the following important functions of our paper:
Assist editor in transcribing content submissions from our vendors;
Write weekly news content;
Interview vendors (those who sell the paper) and draft vendor profiles;
Create and post social media content;
Proofread and edit content before publication;
Uploading content to The Contributor’s website; and,
Provide general support to the editor.
This internship is available for college credit. The intern will be expected to work at least 6-8 hours a week, but may work more hours if necessary for credit. Some work can be done remotely. This is an unpaid internship.
